Breaking: Plateau State to shut down boards effective 6am Thursday 2nd April 2020

The Plateau State Government has announced the closure of state boards effective Thursday 2nd April 2020. This came in a statement sign by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Dan Manjang.

This is in a bid to stem the spread of a possible outbreak of the dreaded Corona Virus into the state, especially may allay the fears and panic among the citizenry that the closure of boards in other state might lead many to make a run for Plateau State.

The statement pointed out thus “THIS IS TO INFORM THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT HIS EXCELLENCY, PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR, RT. HON. (DR) SIMON BAKO LALONG AND CHAIRMAN OF THE PLATEAU STATE COVID-19 EMERGENCY TASK FORCE RESPONSE COMMITTEE, HAS DIRECTED THAT WITH EFFECT FROM 6AM, THURSDAY 2ND APRIL 2020, ALL BORDER ENTRY POINTS INTO PLATEAU STATE WILL BE CLOSED”.

The statement went further that “…CONSEQUENTLY, THERE WILL BE NO EXIT OR ENTRANCE INTO THE STATE.
THIS IS TO ENABLE THE STATE GOVERNMENT INTENSIFY ITS EFFORTS AT FIGHTING THE CORONA VIRUS DISEASE AND PREVENTING POSSIBLE OUTBREAK IN THE STATE”.

The statement advised “…ALL MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ARE ADVISED TO TAKE NOTE AND ADHERE STRICTLY TO THIS DIRECTIVE AS SECURITY AGENCIES HAVE BEEN DIRECTED TO ENSURE COMPLAINCE”.

The decision the statement maintain “…IS IN THE GENERAL INTEREST OF PUBLIC SAFETY.
AGAIN, WITH EFFECT FROM 6AM, THURSDAY 2ND APRIL 2020, ALL BORDER ENTRY POINTS INTO PLATEAU STATE WILL BE CLOSED”.
