COVID-19: Watch over your female children ~ Comrade Sarki Sylvia Yemi

The National President of the Association of Nigerian Female Students (ANFS), Comrade Sylvia Sarki Yemi has called on all Nigerians to observe proper hygiene and follow government policy and protocol aimed at containing the spread of the dreaded Corona Virus.

As an additional measure, she urged citizens to stay within their communities to avoid contacts with those who might have arrived from countries and territories with high rates of infections.

She reiterated the continuous support of the association’s Grand Patron Toastmasters Sonye Allanah to government’s policy on the containment of COVID-19 spread.

She called on Nigerian parents & guardians to be vigilant during this period of containment and isolation, stating that abusers take advantage of the opportunity to perpetrate violence.

She encouraged them to stay alert and spend more time with their children, avoid sending them on errands unaccompanied, making sure they check their children’s bodies and as much as possible ensure limited number of visitors in line with government policy on COVID-19 containment.

Comrade Sylvia Sarki called on government to look into the plights of orphaned female students who will be facing untold hardship in order to survive at this moment. She also called attention to widows and divorcees who might also be facing the same challenge.

She is calling on spirited individuals to help donate relief materials including food items, face masks and sanitizers to help these group of people who might be vulnerable and exploited during these trying times and restrictions.

As a result of lack, occasioned by the inability to go out and earn their daily bread, they are left at the mercy of wicked and unreasonable persons with resources who will use their lack and wants to take advantage of them.
