Governor Simon Lalong has responded to complains by the public especially on Social Media over sharp practices by security agencies which is considered a setback to the border closure imposed to ensure that individuals with symptoms of the Corona Virus are not imported into the state.

The Governor made this known in his state-wide address to citizens following the conclusion of a week-long lockdown of the state. He went specific when he mentioned in ckear terms that
“To address cases of sharp practices, human rights violations and compromise by some security personnel, Government has set up a high-powered Independent Intelligence Monitoring Team, which will report directly to me”.
Many residents have described this as a welcome development considering fear that the Corona Virus might be imported from other states. The Governor had earlier announced the restructuring of the lockdown to allow citizens restock ahead of the resumption of the lockdown on Sunday 19th April 2020.
