Hon Golu Congratulates Plateau PDP Caretaker Committee, LGA/Ward Leaders

HON GOLU CONGRATULATES PLATEAU STATE PDP CARETAKER COMMITTEE, LGA/WARD LEADERS

Former Member of the National Assembly, Hon Dr Golu Timothy has Congratulated the newly appointed State Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the confidence reposed in them by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party.

In a statement issued, Hon Golu said the action of the NWC is apt and timely with the party’s constitutional provisions following the expiration of the four year tenure of the last executive. This, he said, will consolidate on the ongoing transition within the party that was disrupted by the COVID-19 Pandemic which has locked down the entire country and the world. Golu commended the Caretaker committee which is made up of the immediate past state exco under the able leadership of Hon Yakubu Gwott Chocho. He said Hon Chocho and his colleagues have done excellently well to have doused the tension and crisis of the immediate past and stabilised the state Chapter.

He urged them not to waver until the last assignment is delivered. While calling on all members of the party in the state to cooperate with the Caretaker committee for the unity and progress of the party, Golu admonished the new leadership of the party in the state to remain firm and be guided by what is right even in the face of challenges.

He equally congratulated all the newly elected wards and LGA Executives in the recently concluded congresses and charged then to unite the party in their various areas by bringing in everyone on board to avoid the mistakes of the immediate past. He called on all the winners of the congresses to be magnanimous in victory to carry everyone along.
The former State Chief Whip advised those with grievances to follow democtratically recognised due protocols of the rule of law to seek redress and not take the laws into their hands.

Golu used this opportunity to also remind all the good people of Plateau State of the prevailing corona virus pandemic, urging them to double their alert and be conscious of the need to maintain good personal hygiene, social distancing, wearing of facemasks and the constant use of sanitizers.
