IYC Crisis:”Stop Factionalizing IYC FCT Chapter” ~ ELECO to IYC National President

The Electoral Committee Members of the IJAW Youth Council (IYC) Abuja Chapter have called on the Inspector General of Police and other Security agencies to intervene in what they described in a statement signed by the Public Relations Office of the ELECO Comrade P. I Zeprebo Esq as a “Potential Breakdown of Law and Order in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja”.

According to the statement, “…the constitutional and conventional right to appoint the chairman of the electoral committee…” resides in the leadership of Abuja Chapter of IYC, under the able leadership of Comrade Ebizimor Preye.

The statement called on the National President of IYC, Dcn Peter Timothy Igbifa to restrain from causing problems in the Abuja Chapter. Stressing that it is an “…aberration for the National President of IYC to act outside the traditional norms of council.”

The statement called on critical stakeholders, former National Leaders of IYC to call the newly sworn in National President of IYC, Dcn Peter Timothy Igbifa to stop his fractionalization of Abuja chapter of IYC, which according to the ELECO is leading to chaos. The statement is presented as received.

“Press release: Potential Breakdown of Law and Order in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This is to inform the Inspector General of Police and the general public that IYC Abuja chapter under the distinguished chapter Chairman Comrade Ebizimor Preye has the constitutional and conventional right to appoint the chairman of the electoral committee. It is an aberration for the national president of IYC to act outside the traditional norms of council. Let it be on record that, we will not kowtow on this decision taken by the national president. We are the defenders of the realm of the struggle for self-determination and resources control by any means necessary. The uniqueness of IYC Abuja chapter cannot be overemphasised. It is unfortunate that the president has allowed himself to be used by crisis merchants who believed that, if its not in their favour let there be no peace.
I’m also using this medium to call on all critical stakeholders and elders mostly, the past presidents of council to call President Dcn Peter Timothy Igbifa to order to stop his fractionalization of abuja chapter that is leading to chaos. A stitch in time saves nine.
Inline with the provision of conventional practice and the constitution, the Electoral committee formed and duly inaugurated by the Chapter Chairman comrade Ebizimor Preye cannot be dissolve or change under any circumstance. The electoral committee has started the process of ushering in a new formidable executive to pilot the Ijaw Youths in the northern part of the country in a united front. The duly recognised elecom members are listed below. Any individual trying to usurp the powers of the Elecom chairman will be nip by the security agencies.
