The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has announced the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Nigeria Police Force. This follows days of intense Nationwide protests by Nigerians seeking and end to the operations of the unit whom they claim have killed Innocent Nigerians.
The disbandment was announced in a live broadcast today by the Inspector General of Police.
Following the decision, all Officers of that Unit are to be deployed to other Units of the Police Force.
