Plateau South Bye-Election: Prof Nora is not a voter in Southern Zone ~ PDP

The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the candidate All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forth coming Plateau Southern Senatorial Bye-Election scheduled for Saturday, 5th December, 2020, Prof. Nora Dadu’ut was not qualified to contest the election. This was contained in a press text issued during a briefing by the State Chairman of the Party, Hon. Christopher Adukuchili Hassan at the Secretariat of the Party along Yakubu Gowon way (opposite NTA) Jos on Wednesday.

The Chairman said that the APC in its usual desperation to subvert the will of the people, have continuously made unpopular attempts to disrupt the election process by spreading fake and unfounded news that the PDP candidate, Rt. Hon. George Edwards Daika has been disqualified. In his own word the Chairman stressed that

“We find it mandatory at this moment to put the record straight and clear the air that there has never been and there is no any subsisting order from any court setting aside the candidature of Rt. Hon. George Edwards Daika of the Peoples Democratic Party contrary to the fake news of the mischief merchants of the APC”.

The Chairman maintained that Daika does not have credibility problems in any way adding that the former Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly and Federal Lawmaker remained the PDP’s candidate for the Bye-Election. Hon. Hassan noted that rather, it was the APC that has credibility issue with its candidate for not being a card carrying member and a registered voter in the Southern Senatorial Zone. “It is sad that Prof. Nora Dadu’ut cannot vote and she wants to be voted for”. “We challenge Prof. Nora Dadu’ut to make public her voters card. We are praying that by the grace of God we shall celebrate our victory as the people of Plateau south have clearly shown their preference for the Peoples Democratic party and its candidate”, he said.

The Chairman expressed appreciation to the people of the Southern Senatorial Zone for the show of love, solidarity and support for the PDP candidate during the thank you tour in the six local government areas of the zone and promised that the support won’t be taken for granted as the PDP is known for performance and qualitative democratic representation as demonstrated by its serving and past legislators. He used the opportunity to appreciate all aspirants in the Plateau South Senatorial who contested the primaries along with Hon. Daika for their show of maturity of the primaries”. “They rallied with the candidate in a united solidarity of purpose by campaigning along with him. We therefore celebrate their courage and sacrifice for the good of the party”, the chairman said.
