Three suspects caught in the act of adulterating Bejafta Fertilizer have confessed to Men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at their headquarters in Jos, following series of investigations.

Following a tip off from an informant, the three were nabbed at the Thursday market in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State selling the fake Bejafta Fertilizer products to unsuspecting buyers.
The suspects whose names were reveed as Magon Caleb Titus known as (Semu), Maton Solomon and Sule Umar known as (Nasidi) confessed to the unlawful act, saying that they have been into the business of printing bags with the Bejafta brand.

They buy good quantity of limestone to add to original Bejafta Fertilizer and mix it to get more quantity, they said they use five original bags to make 20 bags after mixing it with the limestone.
Farmers have been complaining of low yield when the Bejafta Fertilizer plant went on a break of non-production for about a year. The Plant resumed operations fully in September, 2020.

This revelation has clearly shown how and why farmers have been complaining of low yield for years and consumers of Bejafta products have been subjected to financial sabotage by activities of the adulterators of the authentic award winning Bejafta Fertilizer.
Bejafta Fertilizer company has been experiencing challenges in the last two years with internal and external forces that stalled the company’s production.

The Managing Director, Bejafta Fertilizer, Mr Jacob Makwal is optimistic that the company has put in place proper control mechanisms to mitigate avoidable loopholes in its administration which has now seen the company in consistent daily inventory for an effective business activity.
