Member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency, Hon Haruna Maitala is dead, according to a statement issued by his media consultant, Joseph Adudu on Saturday 2nd April 2021.
Mr. Maitala reportedly died on Friday, 2nd April, 2021 following a ghastly auto crash along Abuja-Jos road, the statement said.
The Reps member will be buried on Saturday morning according to Islamic rites, said Adudu.
Hon. Maitala’s Peugeot 407 SUV with the Plateau license plate number JJN701RR crashed at about 3pm on Friday along Abuja-Jos road, according to MK-Reporters.
A disturbing video of the accident scene shows the ill-fated car crumbled on the ground. The condition of the car wreckage suggests serious fatalities from the accident.
A source who shared the video said only the driver was rescued alive. Voices in the background are also heard saying all occupants of the car except the driver survived.
