As the advocacy for child birth spacing continues, the Plateau Media for Family Planning today paid a visit to some Primary Healthcare Clinics in Tudun Wada and Jos Jarawa areas in Jos. The aim of the visit was to foster awareness among citizens about the use of child birth spacing and to have first hand information about the situation at the PHCs.
At the Tudun Wada PHC, head of the Family Planning unit, Mrs Vou John-Mark took time to explain to journalists the methods of child spacing and the processes involved. She stressed that the child spacing services are entirely free. However, the challenges encountered are that of consumables being in short supply.
Clients at the PHC explained how excited they were about the quality of Child Spacing Services they receive and that they were confident of the results.
At the PHC Jos Jarawa, the head of the family planning unit Mrs Tabitha Azi expressed worry over the fact that they have not received Child Spacing Supplies for about six months, stressing that the Local Government was yet to send them. She revealed that the number of clients who usually patronize the services has drooped considerably given that there were no supplies to attend to them.
