Suspected Rape case: 30 Year old rumour materializes

Residents of abattoir in Jos woke up to a shocking news of alleged rape and sexual abuse of minors numbering over 10 in their community, by a suspect, Lebanese, who is also a resident of abattoir, later arrested in connection with the unfortunate development.

However, youths took to the Abattoir Police Station to protest the alleged release of the suspect, a development which is yet to be confirmed by the Police. They claim the suspect had been detained at the Abattoir police station but later transfered to the Anglo-Jos Police Station, where they claim he was released.

As days continue to count over the incident, revelations about the case have continue to come in. A resident who did not want his identity mention told our correspondent that the rumours of sexual abuse perpetrated by the suspect in Abattoir had been going on for close to thirty (30) years. He however said parents and indeed residents were unable to press charges because no evidence was found to nail the suspect until recently.

A visit to the residence of the suspect by youths led by the police discovered a collection of Identity Cards belonging to minors and adults as well.

As at the time of filling this report, sources claim that the police had condoned-off the residence of the suspect.
