This is coming following recent attacks in Jos North and Riyom LGAs where scores were reportedly killed.

He made this position known during a meeting with community leaders at the Headquarters of Operation Safe Haven in Jos. The Commander Operation Safe Haven in company of other Senior Officers and men of the establishment told community leaders that hence forth, anyone seen carrying an illegal fire arm will be shot. He reiterated that hence forth, any gunshot heard from any community will invite the full wrath of the men of the Operation Safe Haven who will deploy every mechanism to recover that fire arm and the person who fired the shot.

The Commander went further to state that the farming season had come and the Operation Safe Haven is already stepping up efforts and activities across her formations within the joint operation area of Plateau, 5 LGAs in Kaduna and 2 LGAs in Bauchi to ensure a hitch free farming season. The commander pointed out that the farming season is known to be a period of high incidence of conflict between farmers and herdsmen, stressing that the Operation Safe Haven has the capacity to ensure that the season is peaceful and farmers get to go about their farming activities peacefully. He sued for peaceful resolution of all disputes relating to the destruction of crops by cattle as well as verified cases of cattle rustling, stressing that community leaders should ensure that compensation are duly paid, failure of which the OPSH would enforce such on receipt of report.
