A dedicated youth, Hon Henry Gotip has declared to run for the position of Executive Chairman of Kanke Local Government Area in the much anticipated October 2021 Local Government Elections, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Only recently, the Plateau State electoral umpire PLASIEC announced their decision to conduct elections in the 17 Local Government Areas of the state, rolling out guidelines and timetable for activities leading to the elections.
In response, many young people have declared their interests to run for various office, one of which include Hon Henry Jan Gotip. It was a display of massive love at Tuwan Polling unit of Kanke LGA, where Hon Henry Jan Gotip hails from, where he made his declaration of interest, informing the masses at his mother unit of his aspiration for the position of Chairman, Kanke LGC.
The love, joy and reception was massive as clearly seen by the people who accompanied him to Kwarip Ward where the ASPIRANT was welcomed and made to feel at home.
He addressed the Exco, youths and women on the need for good governance in the locality, noting the importance of developing a strategic plan for the local government with the Youths as driving force, using Research, evaluation and town hall meetings which will come up with the basic needs of every ward in the local government, that will be reviewed overtime to meet the emergent needs of the people as time goes on.
He also stressed the need for a befitting health care facility which will be equipped with Specialized Manpower , drugs and basic facilities to meet the primary health care challenges of the people at an affordable cost, rather than traveling long distance outside the Local government area seeking for medical care. On education , the plan will seek to address the efficiency and effectiveness of education and skills development delivery through proper monitoring and evaluation of teachers.
He also spoke on food security through the exploitation of innovation and simple farming techniques which will boost the yield and profit of farmers. He harped and emphasized on unity and harmony amongst citizens of kanke local government. The Chairman of the ward saluted and applauded Henry Gotip’s visionary plans for the local government, and they pledged their loyalty to him and his aspiration.
Goodwill messages were received from the Councillor, representative of Elders, women and youths of the ward. He later had engagements with youths across the various wards in Kanke local government area. Hon Henry Gotip is considered a leading contender in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Kanke LGA.
