A new commander has been appointed to oversee the running of the Special Task Force Operation Safe Haven. The new Commander is, Maj. Gen. IS Ali who is also the General Officer Commanding, 3 Armoured Division Jos is to takeover for Maj. General Dominic Onyemulu who had in March 2021 replaced Maj. Gen. CC Okonkwo. Maj Gen CC Okomkwo has been praised as one of the best commander of Operation Safe Haven which has its headquarters in Jos.
Maj. Gen. Dominic Onyemulu who came from the Armed Forces Simulation Centre has been criticized on many front especially with the resurgence of killings in some Plateau communities immediately he took over reigns of Operation Safe Haven in March 2021; his replacement might not be unconnected.
