The Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District Istifanus D. Gyang has written to the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) requesting to relief materials to victims recent destruction of farm lands across his constituency.
According to information made available to this medium by Mr Dan Werr Legislative Aide to Senator I. D Gyang, the letter dated July 28th 2021 was submitted in person by the Senator and addressed to the Director General of NEMA, Mustapha Habib Ahmed. The Senator stressed that those affected include widows and orphans, hence are in serious need of intervention.
In recent weeks, reports with pictorial evidence has shown farmlands destroyed in Riyom, B/Ladi and Bassa LGAs in the Plateau North Senatorial District by unidentified assailants who hacked down crops that expected to be harvested within weeks.
