Commander Operation Safe Haven Solicits Support from Traditional and Religious leaders in ending criminality in Plateau State

The commander operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) and General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali has solicited the cooperation of traditional leaders and religious leaders in bringing an end to security challenges in Plateau state and environs.

In a statement issued by the media officer Operation Safe Haven Major Ishaku Gaji Takwa in Jos on thursday evening, it was revealed the commander paid familiarization visit to Chairman Plateau state traditional council, His Royal Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba and religious leaders of Muslim and Christian Communities in Jos.

The commander who pledged to ensure fairness and justice in his dealing with the security challenges called for continuous prayers from religious leaders. He said those sponsoring and benefiting from criminalities will be apprehended and made to face the wrath of the law. He urged the community leaders to support the operation, identify and handover criminals in their communities.

General Ali further urged the community leaders to always be sincere in handling security matters and called on religious leaders to remind the congregations on the significance of peaceful coexistence with one another. “Justice will be my guiding principles, I believe there can never be peace without justice. So I am going to be fair to everybody. That is why I am here to seek your prayers and blessings.” he said

In his response the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Majesty Da Jacob Buba Gyang used the opportunity to appreciate the security agents for the sacrifice they render on the plateau. He assured the Comd of the royal blessings of the entire traditional council in Jos towards the efforts of OPSH in bringing lasting peace in Plateau state. “We cannot pretend to be ignorant of your sacrifices, you left your family far away and some time lose your lives to bring peace. We sincerely appreciate your efforts.” he averred. The royal father urged all to be security conscious and wary of where they go and who to keep as close associate.

While at the headquarters Jamaatul Nasir Islam (JNI), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and headquarters Jamma’atul Izalatil Bidah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) Jos, the Commander was received by the Vice Chairman JNI Alhaji Garba Abdullahi, CAN Chairman Plateau state Rev Fr Polycap Lubo and the National Chairman Ulamawu Council Sheik Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir respectively. The commander was also at the headquarters Living Faith Church Jos where he was received by the State Pastor Jos, Pastor Gayus Biyam.

The spiritual leaders pledged their support and prayed for permanent peace on the plateau and Nigeria. Prayers were also offered for God to use Maj Gen IS Ali to turn the tide of the security situation in state towards lasting peace on the plateau and Nigeria.
