The Plateau Elders Forum has expressed sadness over the sudden death of the former Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ibrahim Mantu. This was made known in a statement signed for the forum’s Chairman Ambassador Yahaya Kwande and made available to journalists in Jos the Plateau State capital.
The forum described the former Deputy President of the Senate as an illustrious and distinguished son of Plateau State. Stressing that his death has robbed Plateau State of the defender and a rallying point in the political arena. The forum noted particularly the late Senator’s love for Plateau during his tenure which saw him influence and attract Federal Projects and prominent political appointments to the state, stressing that he will also be remembered for religious tolerance and being a detribalized Nigerian.
The forum further noted that Late Senator Mantu’s politics of principles and ideology has left indelible footprints in the sands of politics in Nigeria worthy of emulation.
The group prayed to God to grant him eternal rest and grant the family, Plateau State and indeed Nigeria at large the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
