Reports from available documents reaching this medium has claimed that there a twist in the case recently being celebrated as a setback in the Bokkos LGA Polls. According to the documents the suit filed few days ago seeking an order restraining PLASIEC from fielding Hon Joseph Goluwa as the Flag bearer of the APC in the forthcoming LG Polls did not succeed in totality as earlier speculated and circulated on social media.
According to records, the Claimant in that case filed a suit seeking among others an induction restraining PLASIEC from featuring Guluwa as the APC candidate.
Filed along with the suit is a application for interlocuroty injunction restraining PLASIEC from featuring GULUWA as APC candidate. The application for interlocuroty injunction has been fixed for hearing on 2nd Sept. 2021.
The claimant also filed an application for interim injunction for parties to maintain status quo pending the hearing of the application for interlocuroty injunction which was fixed for 2nd Sept. 2021.
According to sources, the Court only granted the prayers in the motion exparte except the following reliefs:
- An order for substituted service for Guluwa to be served with the suit by substituted means, to wit: to be served through APC secretariat.
- An order for the suit to be heared a determined during the vacation.
- An Order for parties to maintain status quo pending the hearing of the motion on Notice (2nd Sept. 2021)
Therefore, it appears that pending determination, no such injunction restrains PLASIEC from featuring Guluwa since PLASIEC does not intend to hold election before 2nd Sept. 2021.
Further investigations will be conducted and attempts will be made to get clarification from PLASIEC in coming days
