Gov Elrufai visits Plateau, condoles with Plateau People over unfortunate attacks of the recent past

Governor Nasir Elrufai of Kaduna State has sympathized with the Government and good people of Plateau State over the unfortunate incidents of violence that affected parts of the state within the last few weeks. The Governor made this known when he led a delegation of his cabinet to the Plateau State Governor on Sunday afternoon. Gov Nasir Elrufai was received by the Deputy Governor of Plateau State Prof Sonni Gwanle Tyoden on behalf of Gov Simon Lalong who was unavoidably absent at the Deputy Governor’s Lodge Rayfield Jos. Gov Elrufai said that he would have visited Plateau State earlier if not that he was out of the country during the period.

According to Gov Elrufai, Kaduna and Plateau States have many things in common, especially the ethnoeligious violence and continuous attacks on communities. The Governor stressed that it is important to share in the grief of one another in times of grief. He commended the efforts of Government in restoring peace and sustainability in Plateau State. He called on Plateau people to learn to live together in Peace, stressing that observing the rule of law is the key to living in peace.

Deputy Governor Prof Sonni Gwanle Tyoden, while responding, on behalf of the Government & people of Plateau State appreciated Gov Elrufai & his entourage for coming to sympathize with the people of Plateau State. According to Prof Tyoden, what affects Plateau people affects Kaduna State and thanked him for the show of friendship and solidarity. Prof Tyoden stressed that Nigeria seems to be under seige, hence all men of goodwill must join hands for the sustainance of normalcy in the country.
