Hon Stephen Haruna has emerged as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in B/Ladi LGA following a peaceful and successful election which took place at the Local Government Secretariat B/Ladi.
Unlike in other LGAs like Jos North, Jos South and Riyom where consensus was the method of selection, there was elections in B/Ladi. Delegates from various wards were called in according to their wards to cast their votes and exit for the next badge of delegates from from other wards to be called in, in the same manner.
Honorable Commissioner, Ministry for Science and Technology, Musa Gyang Dung while announcing the outcome of the local government congress explained that following the failure of the stakeholders of the party to reach a consensus, it was agreed that a contest be allowed.
According to the results as snnounced by Hon Musa Gyang Dung, Hon Stephen Haruna pulled 252 votes, while Hon Timothy Choji Kim pulled 118. Prior to the commencement of voting, the Management Committee Chairman of B/Ladi LGA Hon Jok Alamba who was also present at the venue of the LG Congress, told journalists that the process was peaceful and security agencies were on ground to ensure a smooth and hitch free process.
