Group berates those calling for the arrest of Hon Beni Lar

A group by the name ‘PLATEAU PATRIOTS FOR PEACE AND GOOD GOVERNANCE’ has issued a rejoinder to a content making rounds on social media calling for the arrest of the Member representing Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Hon Beni Lar for plans to cause mayhem and instigate crisis in Plateau State. In a statement issued by Timothy Dangle Esq, on behalf of the group, the statement “For the records, Hon Beni Lar being a former Adviser to President Olusegun Obasenjo and currently a fourth termer in the National Assembly representing the good people of Langtang North / Langtang South Constituency is a peacemaker and bridge builder who has touched many lives and an advocate for women. These has earned her accolades within and outside the shores of this country. ”

The group stressed that following these, they were amazed and perplexed by the dumb founded allegations levelled against her person by a faceless group led by one so called BARR. NANZING NDAM to the effect that the Hon. Member orchestrated plans to cause violence on the plateau.

They called on those who claimed to have uncovered plans by the Hon. Member to truncate the forth coming Local Government Elections to please bring forth their discoveries now and avert the plan if they really mean well for our dear nascent Democracy. Stressing that the alleged mass production of army, police and NSCDC uniforms by the Hon. Member for the purpose of causing mayhem is a joke taken too far. They noted that ecurity issues are serious business that shouldn’t be taken for granted.

The statement noted that it was categorically clear that this was the handwork of unpatriotic citizens, stressing that they cannot sit and allow a faceless group rains insults and threat to our elected representative with the soul aim of bringing her down.

The statement called on security agencies to as a matter of urgency swing into action to investigate and unravel the authors of that security threatening publication and prosecute them appropriately, especially that the authors concluded by promising violence and mayhem in the forth coming Local Government Elections in Langtang North, Plateau State. The statement went further to request that the writers immediately retract their allegations, calling it baseless, politically motivated and character assassination publication which was meant to whip sympathy.

The statement called on peace loving people of Plateau State to remain calm and go about their normal activities and reports any miscreant threatening our peace on the Plateau.
