The repeat State Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State has continued peacefully with the conclusions of accreditation which started Saturday evening lasting into Sunday Morning. There was a mild rearrangement of the voting process when the Electoral Panel led by HE Prince Olusola Akanmode announced that following news of a court order regarding the party’s congress in Jos East in effect excluded party Executives of eleven (11) other Local Governments which include; B/Ladi, Riyom, Bassa, Mangu, Bokkos, Quanpan, Mikang, Wase, Langtang North, Langtang South, Pankshin.
In order to prevent further problems following the state congress, the electoral panel decided to exclude Executives of the affects Local Government. Only ward executives of the wards of the 17 LGAs, Executives of the Local Governments not included in the court order and statutory delegates were allowed to participate.
As at the time of filing in this report, delegates of atleast 7 LGAs have casted their votes.
