One of the candidates who participated in the just concluded State Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has taken queue from Hon Bitrus Kaze to congratulate the newly sworn in State EXCO of the party led by Hon Chris Hassan. Hon Lilian Madaki who contested for the office of the Assistant Youth Leader (Youth Leader Central Zone) said that it became necessary for her to do so in the spirit of sportsmanship.
In her own words, In the spirit of sportsmanship, and in my sincere heart of acknowledgement to fact that, “a team is like a toolset, hence, not one tool can do all the jobs, but together it can” And therefore, the need and call for all hands been on deck for progress is necessary.
Hon Lilian Madaki went further to the express gratitude to her family, friends, supporters, community, and we’ll washers for the kind prayers, support and unwavering wishes shown to her during the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Plateau State’s Congress.
Hon Lilian Madaki pointed out that though delegates voted massively for her, technicalities didn’t allow her votes counts. She said that hundreds of her ballot papers (like that of other candidates for other offices) were found in the ballot boxes of other candidates hence counted as void votes. She however thanked delegates for their solidarity and show of love which saw has pull those number of votes. She stressed that she accepts the outcome in good faith, noting that it is God that gives power.
Hon Lilian Madaki cautioned the PDP not impose any candidate ahead of the 2023 elections. In her own words 2023 is around the corner, and PDP been the only hope of Nigerians hence the necessity of it been supported, may I use this opportunity to also plea that, the newly sworn in EXCO should as a matter of urgency, identify areas of weaknesses and work on it towards getting strength, to ensure that hope is preferred over fear, unity over division, and reality over mire dreams.
She noted that there is need for collaborative support to salvage this Country and the ball is in PDP’s court, stressing that It is only PDP itself that has to capacity to tear PDP apart. She reiterated that remains a strong member of the PDP, calling on her supporters to remain in PDP and support the party to victory at all times.
