Over the weekend, Nigerian players converged in Lagos to launch a new union which is aimed at uniting all players from the nation’s extraction either former or currently playing, the sole goal of the Union according to sources includes to serve as a formidable voice of its members and dislodged those making money out with the name of Nigerian players without any tangible result.
The Council of National Association of Nigerian Students Zonal Coordinators, consisting of the four zones that made up the structures of Nigeria apex students body has described the resolution of the players as a great feat that needs to be celebrated by all sport enthusiasts.
In a statement issued to this medium, the council further enjoined Nigerian players to rally round and give maximum support to the leadership of the new union which according to them is a great Union, as the executive of the union is made up of people with reputable character; persons that have distinguished themselves while representing the nation.
The council singled out the President of the Union, Abdul Sule of the union, stressing that the union meant well for Nigerian Players by selecting him, considering his wide experience in sports.
The council used the opportunity to that thank Mr. Chikelue Iloenyosi, the Chairman Board of Trustees of the Union.
