A group by the name “North Central Youths Movement” has hailed the determination and doggedness of the Member Representing B/Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Dr Simon Mwadkwon over the successful passage of the bill for an Act to establish the North Central Development Commission (HB 23).
In a statement jointly signed by Convener of the group Audu A. Yibeikas (Plateau) along with Abdulrazak Danjuma (Kogi), Muhammed Sabba (Niger), Bello Nakre (Nasarawa), Habeeb Olatunji (Kwara) and Dominic Amyebe (Benue), the Group expressed gratitude to God over the recovery of Dr Mwadkwon who appeared for the first time since his involvement in an unfortunate auto crash on Friday May 7th 2021, stressing that God had answered their prayers.
The group noted that their agitation for the establishment of the North Central Development Commission dated as far back as 2016 when they converged in Jos to endorse the Commission. They thanked the leadership of the National Assembly for the speedy passage of the bill which according to them would better the lives of the people of geopolitical zone. The group who had visited Dr Simon Mwadkwon in 2019 on a solidarity visit in support of his efforts towards the bill stressed that North Central has a worthy son and a dependable father in the Honorable Member.
They noted that besides the capacity to address the huge humanitarian deficits left by decades of sectarian crises and continuous attacks by armed herdsmen on innocent communities as well as ecological problems of the entire geopolitical zone, the North Central Development Commission if established has a huge employment potential for the teeming youths entire geopolitical zone.
They urged President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly sign the bill into law in order for the people of North Central Nigeria to have hope that the future is bright.
The North Central Youths Movement is a conglomeration of indigenous youths with huge membership across the six (6) state of North Central Geopolitical Zone and the FCT. They are passionate about the development of the Zone.
