The Plateau State Government have accused a former Governor of the State of being the “…person behind the ugly stage-managed incidences in the state which culminated into the recent impeachment saga at the House of Assembly”.

In a statement issued on Thursday 4th November 2021 by the Honorable Commissioner for Information, Dan Manjang and made available to journalists, the Government accused Senator Jang of attempting to change the narrative and what according to the Government, Senator Jang as never believed in throughout his political life.

The Government further accused the former Governor of enthroning and dethroning four different speakers within 8 years tenure as Governor.

The Government noted that Governor Lalong had no hand in the reported impeachment of Rt Hon Ayuba Abok Nuhu or the emergence of the Rt Hon Yakubu Sanda.

The Government called on the former Governor to come forward with any evidence if he has, of the involvement of Governor Lalong in the impeachment saga and desist from inciting the people against Government.

Senator Jonah David Jang, a former Governor of Plateau State (2007-2015) had accused the Lalong-led administration of plotting the impeachment of Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ayuba Abok Nuhu by about 8 members out of 24, calling the action of the Government in quickly recognizing a faction as unpopular and support for unconstitutionality.
