“…I want to speak for the people of Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency” Hon Danjuma Daniel (aka Judgement Day)

An aspirant for Jos North/Federal Constituency in the long awaited bye elections Hon Danjuma Daniel (aka Judgement Day) under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed his desire to provide the needed voice and support for the people of Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency which according to him has been lagging over the years. According to Hon Danjuma he is motivated to run for the seat of House of Representatives by the need to take the message of the people to the National Assembly. According to Hon Danjuma, he wants the people of Jos North/Bassa to send him to the green chambers to represent them, cry and speak for them whenever the need arises.

Hon Danjuma made this known in an interaction with journalists in Jos the Plateau State Capital. Hon Danjuma told journalists that the unfortunate security situation in Bassa LGA should not be left to Government alone. He called for a round table with all elected and appointed political office holders in the state in order to forge a new strategy to ensure that indeed the entire state is safe. He pointed out that all critical stakeholders need to go back to their constituencies and mobilize their people in order to find lasting solution.

When asked about the efforts of security agencies in the state, Hon Danjuma called on all to encourage security agencies and not just condemn them. This according to him, is needed to motivate them to give in their best professionally to ensure that communities are safer. He noted that security operatives have sworn an oath to protect Nigerians, hence the need for them to be appreciated, for them to do more. He stressed that no one would continue in a vocation if such is not encouraged, hence security agencies should also be encouraged to be sincere in discharging their duties irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliations.

When asked if the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will give him a level playing ground in the contest for the party’s ticket, Hon Danjuma said that indeed God was the ultimate giver of power and that He give power to whomever He wishes, stressing that a lot of people have been praying for him regarding his aspiration hence he was confident of victory.

It will be recalled that Late Haruna Maitala who represented Jos North Bassa Federal Constituency lost his life in an accident on April 3, 2021. Following this development, the House of Representatives on Tuesday 9th November 2021 declared the seat vacant thereby giving approval for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct election and fill vacant seat.
