A former member of the National Assembly who represented Pankshin/Kanam/Kanke Federal Constituency in the 8th National Assembly, Dr Timothy Golu has declared his intention to run for the office of the Executive Governor of Plateau State ahead of the 2023 General Elections. Speaking at the event at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Plateau State Office, Dr Golu said that his desire to run for office is borne out of his desire to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Plateau State.
Dr Golu pointed out that the performance of the current APC led administration has further confirmed the need to continue on his ambition so that he can contribute his quota to the development of Plateau State. He stressed that his experience both at the State and National Assembly where he was able to attract developmental projects running into billions of naira for his constituency has shown him that more can be done to ensure that development can reach the people.
While responding on behalf of the State EXCO of the PDP, State Chairman of the Party Hon Chris Adukuchili Hassan said that people of experience should be given opportunity to pursue their political ambitions in order to add value to the lives of the people. He described Dr Timothy Golu as a young, vibrant and experienced politician who has the qualities of a good leader.
Dr Timothy Golu had an entourage of experienced politicians across the State including the former Member representing Shendam/Mikang/Quanpa’an Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Hon Johnbull Shekarau, former Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly Rt Hon Istifanus Mwansat. Dr Golu was also escorted by the Kanke Local Government EXCO of the Party among many others.
