Plateau State Government launches Back-to-School Campaign, reiterate Commitment to ensure safe return to school

The Government of Plateau State has reiterated its commitment to ensure that the number of out-of-school children is reduced in the state. This was made know by the Executive Chairman, Jos North Local Government Council, who was represented by the Council Secretary Hon (Pastor) Samuel Gyang Chollom at the flag off of the Global Partnership for Education (GEP), COVID-19 Response Back-to-School and Safe School Return Campaign organized statewide by the Plateau State Ministry of Education, the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), in collaboration with UNICEF Bauchi Field Office.

The event which held on Friday 14th January 2022 at the LGEA Headquarters, Township School Jos received goodwill messages from the representatives SUBEB, UBEC, P.T.A Jos North, the Ujah Anaguta, SBMC, CAN and JNI. Others include the representatives of Youths and Women in Jos North, Berom Anaguta and Hausa Communities etc.

High point of the event was a presentation by the pupils themselves on the need to ensure that pupils who dropped out of school for various reasons were returned back to school. Head of Personnel, Jos North Sarah Gyang gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the Council and wished all attendees safety as they returned to their various destinations.
