Amb John Pofi mourns attacks on Plateau communities, calls on Gov Lalong to “…please stop traveling and return home as a matter of urgency…”

The National Coordinator of the Prayer Force Network, Amb John Pofi JP has described the recent attacks on communities in Plateau State as “superlatively alarming and totally unacceptable in saner climes”. Amb Pofi made this known in a statement he personally signed and issued to journalists in Jos, the Plateau State Capital.

Amb Pofi noted that ” A typical Nigerian local farmer only needs security assurances from the state to enable him toil the ground and reap from it, shikenan”.

He described the recent attack in the State as ” Pathetic…what happened in Kanam LGA of the state…which calls for drastic action, stressing that “if our soldiers can display rare gallantry which has made them to be adjudged the best in Africa and yet come and become otherwise in the hands of highly uncivilized, uneducated and untrained criminals, then we are doomed”.

Amb Pofi further noted that he had suggested severally for foreign assistance though with its futuristic consequences, but the future belongs to the living and that is why we must first survive before we face the future because it is only the living that plan for tomorrow”.

Amb Pofi stressed further that for over One Hundred and Thirty people to be killed almost simultaneously in many villages in one day in one LGA is sad, unbelievable and unacceptable”.

According the Amb Pofi, what baffled him the most is the “… TOTAL silence of the presidency over the issue in the same state that about twenty Muslim worshippers were killed and we were told President Muhammadu Buhari could not eat but in this case, we cannot hear even the usual condemnation by the president.” Stressing that “it has been obvious like I always say that this leadership at the national level has failed woefully since it cannot secure its citizens.”

Amb Pofi commensurated with the good people of Kanam LGA and wished those who were injured, divine visitation. He ended his statement thus that “To my dear Governor Simon Bako Lalong who has nothing any more to offer that state should please stop traveling and return home as a matter of urgency to protect the remaining people and to hand over peacefully the next year since you refused to resign”.
