The Gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Barrister Caleb Mutfwang has said that the task and responsibility of chasing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) out of Plateau State has commenced. Mutfwang made this know during his acceptance speech following his victory at the just concluded gubernatorial primary elections of the PDP held in Jos. He also called on all aspirants who contested with him to please remain and support the party in order to return PDP to power in 2023.
Barrister Caleb Mutfwang was declared winner after pulling 252 votes to clinch the ticket of the PDP beating 14 other contenders. According to the results declared , others aspirants pulled the following votes; Alfred Damiyal Ali 92 votes, Dr Mazadu Dader Bako 3 votes, Akuns Jonathan Sunday 16 votes, Dauda Gotring 88 votes, Bagudu Hirse 1 vote, Satu Jatau 4 votes, David Paradang 4 votes, Prof Shedrack Best 4 votes, Alex Land 2 votes, Gen Sunday John Sura 3 votes.
There was a surprise performance by Chief Kefas Ropshik (Kefiano), though a late entrant came 2nd with a total of 113 votes. There was a rousing applause by everyone at the venue when his votes were declared for his surprise outing.
Four aspirants withdrew from the race before commencement of voting. They are Mr Yakubu Pam Jack, Dr Timothy Golu Simon, Pastor Vincent Nanle and Chief Letep Dabang.
