The National Coordinator, Prayer Force Network, Amb John Pofi has berated the current security situation in Nigeria. This was contained in a statement issued personally to this medium on Monday 20th June 2022.

According to Amb Pofi “The series of unprovoked attacks in recent days has opened another disastrous chapter in our national history.” He expressed pain thus that “When innocent Nigerians can no longer go to church, when Nigerians can no longer go to farms, when Nigerians can no longer sleep peacefully in their houses, what else do we expect from the state?”

He berated the recent report of a military helicopter which reportedly attacked civilians, a story which security agencies have repeatedly denied. Ambassador Pofi lampooned President Buhari for claiming that his Administration has achieved tremendous successes in the area of security.”

Ambassador Pofi asked “Where is our humanity and conscience? What are the offences committed by these innocent Nigerians who are killed daily?” While also expressing worry that despites the killing in Owo church, helicopter and attack at the church in Kajuru of Kaduna State no arrest was made.

He wondered why the story of “ungun known men” keeps resonating with no one being prosecuted, stressing that the National Prayer Force Network is saying NO to avoidable bloodbath, NO to any form of man’s inhumanity to man…” He therefore called for immediate action and the protection of Christians and their worship centres”.

Ambassador Pofi on behalf of his family and his team of the Prayer Force Network used the opportunity to commiserate with all bereaved families who are left to lick their wounds, especially the Owo people, the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria and the good people of Ondo and Kaduna States.
