The State Organizing Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Hon Philip Asanato Adik has congratulated the Honorable Commissioner for Works following the decision of the APC Gubernatorial candidate Dr Nentawe Yilwatda to pick him as the Deputy Gubernatorial candidate of the joint 2023 ticket.
Hon Philip Asanato Adik made this know in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Jos few hours after the official announcement of Hon Pam Bot-Mang as the Deputy to Dr Nentawe. He congratulated the APC Gubernatorial candidate Dr Nentawe Yilwatda for taking such a bold decision on the choice of his running mate. According to him, he cherished the boldness of Dr Nentawe, taking into cognisance that it was made from an array of eminently qualified people. He note that what might have made the decision tasking was because it has to be only one person.

Hon Philip Asanato Adik used the opportunity to from the depths of his heart congratulate the Honorable Commissioner for Works, Hon Pam Bot-Mang who was unveiled as running mate. He stressed that his congratulatory message is coming on account of his pedigree, commitment and loyalty to the party, pointing out that Hon Pam Bot-Mang will bring his wealth of experience and his support base to add value to the ticket.
In his own words he described Hon Pam Bot-Mang as “A calm, calculative and a well respected person who has made tremendous impact not only in his capacity as a member of the Plateau state Executive Council, but in his immediate Community in particular and Plateau State at large.”.
Hon Adik used the opportunity to express sincere gratitude to all those who believed he equally possessed what was required to be the running mate of our candidate, pointing out that he noticed how party faithfuls across the length and breath of Plateau State committed their time and resources because of their believe (which they have expressed in many fora and in the media) that he (Hon Philip Asanato Adik) was credible, fit and capable to be Dr. Yilwatda’s running mate.
He specifically thanked the APC State Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature and other members of the State EXCO of the APC for the confidence they showed in him.
Hon Philip Asanato Adik pointed out that he has also read the opinions of many about himself on platforms, including the new media, but regardless of their opinions, he stressed that he has value and respect for their views.
He added that for those who contacted him personally and those who called his phone to advice and encouraged me not to reject the offer to serve as running mate in the event it was granted, on account of the demand and request by those who felt he was the most capable.
He extended his appreciation to members of his community, Kiche (Rukuba), for their ever valuable support and advice, which according to him would continue to remain a source of inspiration.
He also extended his appreciation to all party loyalists, for their efforts, stressing that the time had come to close ranks. As a person who has been in the game for politics for long, Hon Asanato noted that he is aware that no political decision can satisfy everyone considering the complexity of the human nature, stressing that it is for this reason that he deemed it a challenge in his heart to call on all party men and women not to give-in to sentiments and other negative factors and tendencies that have the potency of tearing rhe party apart on account of the decision of the Governorship candidate on his running mate.
In conclusion, Hon Philip Asanato Adik disclosed that the interest of the APC and Plateau supersedes the interest of an individual, stressing that all must join hands to deliver their great party in all elective positions in 2023.
