Hon Ubandoma Laven Accuses Gov Lalong of Frustrating Payment of Salaries of Works in Langtang North LGA

The Executive Chairman of Langtang North LGA, Hon Joshua Ubandoma Laven has accused the Governor of Plateau State, Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong of deliberately frustrating the payment of salaries of workers of Langtang North LGA for over 3 months.

He made this known while addressing journalists at the State Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jos on Tuesday 20th September 2022. Hon Laven noted that haven secured various court judgements recognizing him as the authentic Chairman of Langtang North LGC, he was allowed to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Plateau State through the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs who also signed for salaries of workers of Langtang North to be paid.

In his own words “I am feeling for the innocent people working in Langtang North LGA who are being owed at least 3 months salaries. N55,753,000 x 3 Months for workers, N58,755,000 x 3 Months for Teachers, in addition to pensions amounting to over N417,000,000 which has been approved but yet workers have not been paid”.

He stressed that such acts are an attack on the Tarok Nation, while also sympathizing with the non-tarok people working in the LGA who are suffering as a result of the non-payment of salaries.

Hon Laven added that he and his people won’t take the law into their hands but will continue to seek redress through legal means, stressing that he has secured various court judgements against his illegal removal.

He called on the Nigerian Bar Association to call Gov Lalong to order for his flagrant disregard for the rule of law.

He appealed to Plateau people to help question the Government of Plateau State on the continuous refusal to pay workers of Langtang North their salaries after committing to pay the salaries through the Honorable Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

He added that Governor Lalong and his Deputy has been out of the state, leaving the affairs of government unattended to because he doesn’t care about the people of Plateau State.
