North Central Youths Back Sen Ayu to remain as PDP National Chairman

The North Central Youths Parliament has thrown it’s support behind the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain in office despite calls for his resignation as part of the fallout of the Presidential primary election of the PDP which HE Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON won.

The group through its National Clerk Hon Eveh Dominic told journalists on Tuesday 8th November 2022 that “…Nigerians have become tired of the anti Democratic  antics of some supposed members of the PDP backed by some seating Governors under the PDP “.

Hon Eveh pointed out that asking the National Chairman to resign at such a critical period on the eve on a general election is a bad omen for and uncalled for.

He questioned the motives of the proponents of Iyorchia’s removal, who also want the National Chairman of the party to come from the South, while these same actors spearheaded the removal of a Chairman from the South. He urged them to come out and state their true grievances, not to hide under the guise of wanting the chairman of the party to come from the South without looking at the requirements as stated in the party’s constitution.

According to him, the group has considered the matter and has found that the National Chairman of the PDP is not guilty of any offence punishable by the party’s constitution to warrant his resignation. The group used the opportunity to salute the courage to the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, HE Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON for not yielding yo the malicious requests such individuals.

The group further stated that they will hold a World Press Conference and Solidarity Match at the Unity Fountain in Abuja, in support of Senator Iyorchia Ayu in coming days.

The group called on the leadership of the party to explore all mechanism for conflict resolution in order to broker peace within the party and not give room to divisive elements.
