Caleb Nuhu Shikir has been declared winner of the just concluded rerun primary elections for Kanke State Constituency held at the Community Hall, Kabwir venue of the election.
Declaring the results, the electoral officer and chairman of the Local Organizing Committee of the rerun primaries Hon Yahana Gukas, said Hon Caleb Nuhu Shikr pulled a total of eighteen (18) votes to win the rerun.
Earlier on during the accreditation only eighteen (18) out of thirty-one (31) names of delegates presented by the electoral committee were present for the rerun and only Hon Caleb Nuhu Shikr was present as an aspirant in the rerun. Caleb Nuhu Shikr was declared winner after pulling all 18 votes
The Electoral Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Kanke LGA, Haruna Bashir was at the venue, in the presence of Officers of the Nigerian Police Force, Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Special Investigations Bureau (SIB), Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and other sister agencies who all signed the results of the rerun.
The atmosphere was peaceful before, during and after the rerun primaries as delegates and supporters present conducted themselves well.
A Federal High Court in Jos had ordered a rerun following a judgement delivered by he court.
