The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang has said that the Judiciary has once again proven to Nigerians that there will be integrity in the Electoral Process come 2023. He made this know in Pankshin during the Inauguration of the PDP Campaign Council for Plateau Central Senatorial Zone on Friday 2nd December 2022.
He said that the Federal High Court sitting in Jos stroke out that last suit against the PDP in Plateau State, which among other things was seeking to stop PDP in Plateau from participating in the 2023 Polls Barrister Caleb Mutfwang further described as cheering news the decision of the Federal High Court sitting in Jos to strike out the case brought before her by Augustine Timkuk Dandam against the PDP, INEC and Hon Nanim Joseph who won the Langtang North-North State Constituency Primaries held in May 2022.
He added that the decision of the court was a welcome development, adding that the only APC orchestrated legal action against the PDP was done away with by the Judiciary which according to him had done the people of Plateau State proud. Mutfwang stressed that the APC knew that they had no chance of clinching the votes of Plateau people through the ballot and hence decide to try to used the back door through the courts, and according to him that back door had been closed.
Mutfwang also drew attention of part faithfuls to the recent report released by the Coalition of Civil Society Groups in Plateau State who alleged underaged registration/double registrations totaling about 84,000 across four LGAs of the State, stressing that he and his team will follow up the matter they a logical conclusion conclusion.
Mutfwang also said that going into the 2023 general elections, the party and the campaign council will no longer tolerate people in PDP who are agents of the APC in trying to distabilize the PDP. He added the the PDP and her candidates will win as a united front come 2023. He called on party stakeholders to sheet their grievances against each other and forgive each other so that the 2023 polls will be a resounding victory for the party.
The event was well attended by critical stakeholders of the PDP in the zone and others who came in solidarity with the party. Those present include the Director General of the Atiku/Mutfwang Campaign Council, Hon Letep Dabang, State PDP Chairman, Hon Chris Adukuchili Hassan and his EXCO, Member Representing Bokkos/Mangu Federal Constituency, Hon Solomon Bulus Maren and Member Representing Mangu South Constituency Hon Bala Fwangje. Others present include the Senatorial Candidate of the PDP GY Gotom, Candidate of the PDP for Pankshin/Kanam/Kanke Federal Constituency Hon Ziphion Terkop Chrysanthus and all State Assembly Flag Bearers of the PDP in the zone.
