The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Barrister Caleb Mutfwang has called on Plateau People to unite and imbibe the spirit of unity exhibited by the Youths and Hunters of Jos East LGA who through share unity and bravery rescued their Paramount Ruler Rev. Dr Isaac Wakili, a first class Monarch of the Izere Nation who was abducted at his Palace located in Shere District of Jos East LGA in the early hours of Friday 20th January 2023.

He said that when that is achieved each community will be the security partner and protector of the next community and by so doing, achieve better community security for the entire State. Mutfwang made this disclosure during the continuation of town hall meetings organized by Atiku-Okowa/ Mutfwang-Piyo Campaign Council which this time held in Bassa LGA of Plateau State. The event saw in attendance 28 tribal associations, trade unions and professional organisations within Bassa LGA.

Mutfwang stressed that if elected as Governor of Plateau State, he will strengthen the unity of Plateau people, adding that he will stand to protect his people and not take sides against his people. He noted that the disagreements between and within ethnicities of Plateau State must come to an end. He further stated that he will go after every Plateau son and daughter occupying office at the federal level to demand accountability on behalf of Plateau people, stressing that as Governor, he will not tolerate anyone who will discriminate against a fellow Plateau indigene on the basis of ethnicity.

Mutfwang was accompanied by his Deputy Mrs Josephine Piyo, Director General Atiku-Okowa/ Mutfwang-Piyo Hon Letep Danbang, State Chairman of the PDP Hon Chris Hassan and other members of the Campaign Council across the State. He called on the people to vote for the candidates of the PDP from President (in Atiku Abubakar), Governorship (in himself Barrister Caleb Mutfwang), Senatorial (in Hon Simon Mwadkon), House of Reps (in Hon Musa Agah Aviah) and State Assembly Candidates for Rukuba/Iregwe, as well as Pengana Constituency (Mrs Happiness Matthew Akawu) who recently emerged as flagbearer of the PDP following the death of her husband Mr Matthew Akawu.

The State Chairman of the PDP Hon Chris Hassan while making his remark used the opportunity to received about 207 persons who defected from the APC to the PDP in Bassa, through their leaders.
He urged the people of Bassa to continue to support and vote for the PDP because every section of Bassa has benefited from the PDP, unlike the APC which has not done anything tangible for the people of Bassa.
