The Youth Campaign Directorate of the Atiku-Mutfwang Campaign Council has engaged youths to support the campaigns of PDP Candidates. The Directorate which is led by its Director General, Hon Hitler Joshua Pwajok and other members of the directorate visited Quan’pan and Shendam LGAs on Monday 30th January 2023 to meet with youth groups, ethnic nationalities and labour unions in order to sell the manifesto of the candidates of the PDP, starting from the Presidential Candidate of the party HE Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Plateau State Governorship candidate Barrister Mutfwang and all National Assembly as well as State Assembly Candidates of the PDP across the State.
The Youth Directorate was first at the Palace of the Long Pan to receive royal blessings before proceeding to the Town Hall Meeting with various Youth Groups. They were received by the Long Kwa HRH Miskam Ignatius D. Didel and Long Deomak HRH Miskam Cosmos Ndelong Dakyap on behalf of the Quan’pan Traditional Council.
While respond the monarchs welcomed the Youths and encouraged them to ensure that they behave themselves in a peaceful manner throughout their campaigns and represent the youths well. The Monarchs reminded them that the 2023 General Elections is in the hands of the youth to decide, given that the youths formed morethan 60% of the total number of registered voters. The monarch brought to the notice of the Youths the plights of the people in rural areas who according to them were really suffering. They prayed for the safety of the Youths and sent them on their way.
The Youth Campaign Council then proceeded to meet with over 16 Youth Groups in Quan’pan LGA where Issues regarding youth unemployment, the dilapidated road Infrastructure, absence of electricity supply in the LGA for decades, insecurity and workers welfare in Quan’pan LGA were raised.
While responding, the Director General Atiku-Mutfwang Youth Campaign Council Hon Hitler Joshua Pwajok assured them that the PDP adminstration will always priorities the needs of the people. He noted that the Massive road infrastructural development initiated by the Gov Jang-led administration in Quan’pan LGA was not sustained by the outgoing APC led administration. He noted that a Mutfwang led administration will ensure that these issues raised will be looked into critically. He particularly noted that during the last visit of Barrister Caleb Mutfwang to Quan’pan Traditional Council, he had expressed such that such an LGA was disconnected from the Nation grid and promised to make it a priority when he is elected and assumes office as Governor of Plateau State.
The team then proceeded to Shendam where they interfaced also with various Youth Groups in Shendam who also expressed same concerns as those expressed in Quan’pan. Hon Hitler Joshua Pwajok promised them the a PDP adminstration will never leave them behind. The Youth Directorate is expected to continue within the Southern Zone and then proceed the Central and Northern Zones respectively within the next few days.
