The Atiku-Mutfwang Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Governor Simon Bako Lalong led administration to provide details of the projects listed for refund and how they intend to expend the over N6 Billion Federal Government refund announced by the Honorable Minister for Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola.
In a statement issued by the Director Media and Publicity Directorate of the Atiku-Mutfwang Campaign Council Hon Yiljap Abraham, the council was reacting to an announcement made by the Works and Housing Minister following the Federal Executive Council meeting last Wednesday February 1st 2023 that the Plateau State Government is getting a refund of N6, 601, 769, 470.99 “for some road projects executed on behalf of the Federal government”.

The minister had further said that the refunds “were necessary”, and hence the Atiku-Mutfwang Campaign Council called on the Gov Lalong led administration to disclose to the people of Plateau the projects that have made the refunds “necessary” as claimed by the Hon Minister of Works and Housing. The council stressed that N6.6 Billion is no small amount for a State that is struggling with a staggering debt and a very uncomplimentary poverty score among 36 other states.
The council further stated that it is aware that a federal team from Abuja visited the state and inspected some selected projects from Jos to Langtang South. They council added the it would appear that PDP completed projects were also included among the projects that made up the package that have been qualified for the refund, hence qualifying their call for the Plateau State Government to come up clean in disclosing the details earlier requested.
