Breaking: Atiku-Mutfwang Youth Campaign Council calls for immediate Redeployment of INEC ICT Staff in Plateau State over alleged compromise ahead of February 25th & March 11th Polls

Barely 72 hours to the conduct of the February 22nd 2023 polls, the Youth directorate of the Atiku-Mutfwang Campaign Council has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately redeploy Engineer Umar Mamuud Muhammad the head of ICT of the Commission’s Office in Jos over concerns which they said if not addressed are capable to compromising the integrity of the 2023 polls in Plateau State.

The Youths Directorate disclosed this during a Press Conference held in Jos the Plateau State capital morning of  Wednesday 22nd February 2023. While addressing journalists, the Director General of the Atiku-Mutfwang Youth Campaign Directorate Hon Hitler Joshua Pwajok said that it was public knowledge that shortly after the emergence of Governor Simon Lalong’s preferred  the anointed APC Candidate Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, one Engineer Umar Mamuud Muhammad and other Staff of INEC serving in Benue were hurriedly deployed to Plateau State.

According to him, the source of concern is that the said staff of INEC worked closely with the APC gubernatorial candidate Dr Nentawe Yilwatda while he served as Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue. He wondered why such staff from Benue will be deployed to the same state where their immediate past Boss Dr Nentawe Yilwatda is on the ballot.

They called on the commission to immediately redeploy Engineer Umar Mamuud Muhammad out of Plateau State for the commission to be seen to be neutral and unbiased, serving everyone’s interest and not perceived to be taking sides with a particular candidate.

The Youth Directorate of the Atiku-Mutfwang Campaign Council also expressed concern over the activities of some elements who have been going round collecting Voter Identification Number (VIN) of voters in rural communities which are strong holds of the PDP.

The Group also used the opportunity to empathize with the public over the frustrations and stress caused by the Cash policy and avoidable fuel crises which they described as created by the APC administration.

They however cautioned Nigerians not to engage in acts that will compromise National security and jeopardize the current political process, but direct their anger through constitutional means by voting out the APC and voting in the PDP which has shown capacity and willingness to rescue Nigeria from the brink of total collapse caused by the APC.
