The NANS President was reacting to reports of tension across the country, including violence in some areas following the announcement of results for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Comrade Barambu urged Nigerians to refrain from fueling the breakdown of law and order which according to him will only lead to widespread violence and disrupt the hard earned peace of currently being enjoyed across Nigeria.

Barambu used the opportunity to call on Nigeria’s Religious Leaders and Critical Stakeholder to stop making incitive utterance calling for cancellation of results and discontinuation of collation, which he said is capable to joepardizing National Security, urging them to instead help maintain peace and unity in their words.

The NANS President called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to continue the collation process and announce valid winners, urging any person or group of persons who may be dissatisfied with the outcome of the results to file their documents and head to court rather than sponsor the breakdown of law and order.
