A group by the name ‘Concerned Geomai Youths Movement’ (CGYM), a faction of the Geomai Youth Movement has totally and unequivocally denied the endorsement of Nentawe Yiwatda Goshwe, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in the March 18, 2023 Governorship Election or any APC Candidate in the interest of fairness and justice to other Geomai Candidates in other political parties, especially the Labour Party (LP), the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), etc.
In a statement made available to this medium and signed by Casmir N. Longtoe and Romanus K.Anthony, National President and Secretary General respectively of the Concerned Geomai Youths Movement in Jos, it reads as follows;
“We are constrained to take this decision because our people are seriously worried about their fate if they all put their eggs in one basket by supporting Nentawe Yiwatda or only APC Candidates and they don’t win the Governorship or House of Assembly seats.”
“We are therefore calling on all Geomai sons and daughters to feel free and vote all candidates of their choice in all political parties to avoid negative consequences.”
“The Concerned Geomai Youth Movement also frowns at the attempt by the APC Government to drag our well respected traditional rulers into politics.”
“We are calling on traditional rulers to vote candidates of their choice but not work for APC alone but be seen to be just and fair to all manner of parties and persons.”
“It has also come to our notice that some highly placed Geomai sons and daughters are threatening non indigenes in Quan Pan and Shandam LGAs to vote for APC or their farmlands will be confisticated. This is totally wrong because other LGAs may decide to do same to Geomai indigenes in their respective places of dominance in PDP or LP.”
“Thus, we are calling all electorates to freely vote candidates of their choice in the PDP, LP, APC etc, without let or hindrance as we shall defend you all against any obnoxious law or decision.”
‘Lastly, we call on the people of Plateau State to think and vote for people with proven integrity, competence, commitment, experience, good records, fear of God and are industrious.”
