The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Barrister Caleb Mutfwang has been declared winner of the Plateau State Governorship Elections held on the 18th of March 2023.
Declaring the result, the returning officer of the Plateau State Governorship Elections Professor Idris Amali announced that Barrister Caleb Mutfwang of the PDP scored 525, 291 votes, while scored Dr Nentawe Yilwatda of the APC scored 481, 370. Dr Patrick Dakum of the LP 60, 310 scored votes.
Barrister Caleb Mutfwang haven scored the highest number of valid votes cast was declared winner of the election and returned elected. The Governor-Elect Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang won 10 out of the 17 LGAs of Plateau State with a margin of the 43,921. This is the first time the PDP is returning to power at the State level since loosing power in 2015 to Simon Bako Lalong of the APC who will conclude his tenure May 29th 2023.
