The 2023 General Elections may have come and gone, but echoes from the camp of winners and loosers still reverberate. While others have accepted their fate and have turned to the Election Petition Tribunal, others are still trading blames for their defeat.
A Public affair commentator Mr Paul-Gindiri Wudeama Gunen has added his voice to the dynamics of the outcome of the 2023 polls. According to him, the Biometric Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) has brought sanity to elections, making ballot snatching and thuggery obsolete practices which have no consequence and effect on the out come. However, he disclosed that propaganda has now replaced Ballot Snatching and other forms of political thuggery.
Mr Paul-Gindiri Wudeama Gunen made this disclosure when he appeared on a 103 Politics, a Political Affairs Program on KT FM 103.9, hosted by Blunt Morgan Tok. According to him, just like in war and wrestling, people have resorted to the use of propaganda in order to get the sympathy of voters, adding that in Plateau State, the negative propaganda unleashed on the person of the Governor-Elect of Plateau State Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang United Plateau People to vote for Mutfwang.
He used the opportunity to remind the Governor-Elect Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang that Governor Simon Lalong of the APC was voted in by the people, and given that the expectations of Plateau people were not met, the people opted to vote back the PDP, stressing that the people may do the same to the PDP if the party fails to meet the expectations of Plateau people.
