Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang imposes 24 Hours Curfew in Mangu LGA over fresh attacks, GOC 3-Division Visits Mangu

The Executive Governor of Plateau State Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has imposed a 24 hours Curfew in Mangu LGA follow fresh attacks in Sabon Gari community of the area. In a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor Gyang Bere, this was done in consultation with Security Chiefs in the State.

The statement directs the immediate restriction of movements within the Local Government until further notice except for security agents and those on essential duties.

Governor Mutfwang has however assured the people that government is working round-the-clock to restore peace and security in the state.

In the early hours of Sunday 9th July 2023, residents of Sabon Gari community and environs in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State woke up to sad scenes of pains and mourning following fresh attacks by armed men which left at least 10 persons dead.

The development has led to tension within and around Mangu LGA at large which necessitated the imposition of curfew in the locality by the Government.

In a related development, less than 24 hours after assuming command, the New General Officer Commanding 3-Division and Commander, Special Taskforce Code Named Operation Safe Haven, Major General A.E Abubakar in company of troops was in Mangu in the early hours of Sunday for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation.
