The Transition Committee Chairman of Mangu LGA, Markus Artu has notified the public that after due consultations with the Plateau State Government under the leadership of Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, following consultations with other critical stakeholders, it was resolved that Students currently writing the May/June 2023 National Examination Council (NECO) Senior Secondary School Exams are exempted from the 24 hours curfew earlier imposed in Mangu LGA. This according to the Chairman is to enable them complete the examination which was already scheduled before the unfortunate incident.
In a statement issued by the Transition Committee Chairman of Mangu LGA, Hom Markus Artu on Sunday July 9th 2023 it adds that “In addition, I wish to advise all students currently writing the examination to ensure they move around with their identity Card or any form of identification as Security agencies have been directed to ensure total enforcement of the curfew.”
The statement concludes this that “While I sympathize with all those who lost their loved ones during the attacks, I wish to appeal to all Citizens to remain calm, Peaceful and cooperate with the security operatives as government is doing everything possible to restore peace and normalcy in our dear council area Mangu and the entire state.”

EXEMPTION OF STUDENTS WRITING NECO EXAM’S FROM 24-HOUR CURFEW IMPOSED ON MANGU LGA BY GOVERNMENT.
You May wish to recall, that the Executive Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, had imposed a 24-hour curfew on our Council area Mangu, following the recent attacks that led to loss of lives and properties.
In view of the above, and after due consultation with the state Government under the able leadership of our leader the Executive Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and other Critical stakeholders, I wish to announce that all students who are currently writing the National Examinations Council (NECO) Exam, are therefore, exeampted from the Curfew, this is to enable them complete the examination which was already scheduled before the unfortunate incident.
In addition, I wish to advise all students currently writing the examination to ensure they move around with their identity Card or any form of identification as Security agencies have been directed to ensure total enforcement of the curfew.
While I sympathize with all those who lost their loved ones during the attacks, I wish to appeal to all Citizens to remain calm, Peaceful and cooperate with the security operatives as government is doing everything possible to restore peace and normalcy in our dear council area Mangu and the entire state.
