Ambassador Yohanna Margif, Leader of the Labour Party (LP) in Plateau State has urged citizens to unite behind Governor Caleb Mutfwang in his quest to end the unfortunate killings of innocent citizens in the State. This is coming days to the scheduled visit of Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate in just concluded February 2023 Presidential Elections to Plateau State.
In a statement issued to journalists by Margif in Jos the Plateau State Capital on Monday 17th July 2023 following receipt of the news of the scheduled visit of Mr Peter Obi, he urged stakeholders of the Party to come out in their numbers to welcome and escort Mr Peter Obi to condole with victims recent attacks and the entire people of Plateau State.
Margif described the planned visit by the Presidential candidate of the labour party Peter Obi to Mangu Internally Displaced Persons Camps in Plateau State as a welcome development, adding that the planned visit by Mr Peter Obi as another demonstration of empathy, which goes to show that he has the interest of the Plateau people and Nigeria at heart.
Amb. Margif had earlier joined all Nobel voices to condemn the continues attacks and killings 9f innocent people in Mangu and other parts of Plateau State, and called on all stakeholders in the state, irrespective of Tribe, Religion or Political affiliation to come together and support the affords of the Current Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang in Addressing insecurity on the Plateau, towards achieving total peace for development and progress of the home of Peace and Tourism.
He expressed further in his own words that “I have seen Governor Mutfwang, going round, making frantic efforts to see to the end of Insecurity in the state which he inherited and It is time to rally round the governor with our ideas and support to end the senseless attacks and killings in our dear state, because we don’t have any other place than Plateau”.
Mr Peter Obi, is scheduled to visit Plateau State on Wednesday, 19th July ,2023 in order to commensurate and condole with surviving victims and in deed the people of the stateover the recent attacks by Gunmen in Mangu Council area which claimed the lives of over 300 People with Many properties destroy and thousands randered homeless.
