A group referred to as ‘Concerned Indigenes of Amper District’ (CIAD) has appealed to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State to consider Amper Zone of Kanke LGA, in subsequent appointments. The group hailed the efforts of the Governor in steming the tide of resurging insecurity in the state, and for returning the state to the path of peace and prosperity.
They commended the Governor for appointing four of their sons into office, but however appealed to him to consider Amper Zone in subsequent appointments, given that the zone, according to them produced the highest number of votes for the PDP in Kanke LGA in the March 18th Gubernatorial Polls.
They highlighted how that the only sons from the zone who were still in office were removed before the expiration their tenure. They include The immediate past Chief Medical Director, Plateau Specialist Hospital Dr Philemon Golwa that has been replaced by Prof Chris Yilgwan who was appointed by the Governor, while the position of the Engineer Peter Kassam, who was General Manager, Plateau Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (PRUWASSA) was asked to handover.
They appealed to the Governor to critically look into the issues raised dispassionately and ensure equity prevails so as to give them a sense of belonging.
The statement is presented as received;
Barrister Caleb Nutfwang,
Executive Governor,
Plateau State.
Your Excellency,
*An* *Appeal* *by* *Concerned* *Indigenes* *of* *Amper* *District* *in* *Kanke* *LGA* .
We, the aforementioned Indigenes of Amper District of Kanke LGA of Plateau State congratulate Your Excellency on your recent inauguration as the Executive Governor of our dearest State.
We commend your efforts in trying to stem the tide of insecurity and return the State to it’s past glory . Your recent appointments into various offices of responsibilities is a clear testimony to this fact.
However, we as members of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Amper Zone appear to have been neglected in this few appointments made so far.
It’s a fact that our Zone produced one of highest votes for our Party during the last general elections in the LGA.
While appreciating the fact that so far, the government under your able leadership has appointed four of our son’s into some offices, our zone feel sidelined with such appointments.
We are saddened that of all the appointments made so far, Garram and Kabwir Zones appear to have been loaded with all the appointments without due consideration to Amper Zone as in the spirit of rotational principle of fair play in the Local Government Area.
Your Excellency, more worrisome to us as loyal Party faithfuls, is the recent development where two of our sons from our Zone and the only Ngas Sons from Kanke in Government were removed from offices even when their tenures were yet to expire. These include the Chief Medical Director of Plateau Specialist Hospital(CMD)and General Manager of Plateau Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency ( PRUWASSA).
Sadly New CMD for Plateau Specialist Hospital has already been appointed .
We had expected that based on the zoning formula that the LGA has been practicing over the years, the recent appointment of a TIC Chairman and Commissioner would have been zoned to us not Garam and Kabwir zones respectively which short changed us twice in the last dispensation.
We are therefore appealing to Your Excellency to critically look at these issues of concern dispassionately and ensure that equity and justice prevail so as to give every part of the Local Zones a sense of belonging .
While expecting a positive response to our plight, we wish you a successful tenure as the Executive Governor of our dearest State.
Signed:
Concern Indigenes of Amper District.(CIAD)
