Plateau State Assembly Confirmed 19 Nominees: Commissioners Designate speak on their readiness and prospects for the incoming State Executive Council

The Plateau State House of Assembly has confirmed the 19 Commissionership Nominees sent to the House by Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for screening.

The nominees were successfully screened by the House of Assembly to emerge Commissioners Designate on Tuesday 1st August 2023 at Assembly Complex in Jos. The Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly Rt Hon Moses Sule presided over the day’s screening business.

One after the other, the nominees took turns to respond to questions from the members of the State Assembly who quizzed them on critical areas of governance and administration, their competencies and qualifications. The screening lasted from 10am and finally came to an end around 5pm, with all 19 nominees screened and confirmed by the House of Assembly.

Some of the nominees took time out to express gratitude to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for finding them worthy to be appointed to serve Plateau people.

Hon Davou Jatau Commissioner Designate from Jos South

Commissioner Designate from Jos South LGA, Hon Davou Jatau while speaking to this medium thanked Governor Caleb Mutfwang for selecting him to serve, assured the Governor and people of Plateau State that he will give his best. He also appreciating Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for successfully eliminating the leadership deficit that Plateau State had struggled with over the last 8 years.

He noted that the task before the incoming State Executive Council under the leadership of Governor Caleb Mutfwang enomous, which will entail the rebooting of the system in order to have a base on which good governance will commence.

He added that the rots in the system need to be cleared out and in order to have a clear path to give Plateau people the much needed dividends of democracy.

He assured Plateau people that the best will come out of the Mutfwang-led administration touching on all sectors in the State, particularly tourism, commerce, peace and security; stressing that Plateau people will have the best of leadership.

Hon Caroline Dafur Panglang,

On her own part, Hon Caroline Dafur Panglang – Commissioner Designate from Mikang LGA appreciated God Mutfwang for entrusting her to serve Plateau people, stressing that she will do her best to help execute the vision of Governor Caleb Mutfwang. She added that she will bring in her wealth of experience in dealing diligently with whatever responsibility Governor Mutfwang deems fit to entrust her with.

Chief Ephraim Usman, Commissioner Designate from Kanam LGA

Commissioner Designate from Kanam LGA Chief Ephraim Usman while speaking to this medium said that he will bring in his experience as an accountant in order to maximize State resources for the benefit of Plateau people. He added that though the state was faced with hard economic realities, he will do his best to help Governor Mutfwang improve the fortunes of the state.

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has announced that the Commissioners Designate, after their successful screening will be sworn-in on Friday 4th August 2023. In a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Gyang Bere, the event will hold at the Langfield Leisure Park and Garden, Rayfield, Jos. The statement further advised all guests to be seated by 10:30am.
